The weather couldn't have been better for our Bridge the Gap day very kindly attended by William Hague MP for Richmond who has given his whole-hearted support for the scheme.

Bridge the Gap
Monday, 01 October 2007
CodeWe'd like to bring the old metal military railway bridge near  Catterick racecourse back into use.

The plan is to deck the bridge and create a bridleway crossing of the river at Brompton on Swale.

The plan is one of 79 projects from all over the country to form a Connect2 bid for lottery money.  Six competing schemes, ranging from the Eden Project in Cornwall to Sherwood Forest in Nottingham, will make their pitch for the funding on ITV1 in December, with viewers voting for their favourite scheme.

PLEDGE YOUR SUPPORT FOR THIS LOCAL SCHEME NOW AND STAY UP TO DATE WITH PROGRESS

DIARY DATE: Saturday 6 October  Take part in one of several walks from various points, to the bridge, or join us at the site with William Hague.

Broughton Jim
Monday, 01 October 2007
It is with such great sadness that I had Jimmy (Broughton Jim) put to sleep aged 31 years, due to a tumour on his tail increasing in size - even though he was still full of beans and wanting the next mare. Brian  bought him as a young Welsh Section 'D' colt almost 2 years old and we spent time on him so that when he was broken and showing he had manners and was able to go on and do almost anything, which he did except for dressage.  He fathered so many quality animals = some of which have gone on to event, hunt and showjump. Karen jumped him BSJA and also hunted him which he really enjoyed.  He went on later to be shown in M & M classes; working hunterpony; and latterly in Veteran classes. I can honestly say in all the time we had him apart from his yearly vaccination - he was never sick or sorry.

He has been part of the family for over 29 years and will be forever remembered as old Jimmy who gave us everything he had.
